Yes. Influenza A (H1N1) has not been shown to be transmissible to people through eating properly handled and prepared pork (pig meat) or other products derived from pigs. The virus is killed by cooking temperatures of 1600F/700C, corresponding to the general guidance for the preparation of pork and other meat.

Soalan yang ditanya apakah selamat jika seseorang memakan daging babi?
Jawapan yang diberikan: Ya (Selamat). Tidak ada bukti yang menunjukkan mereka yang memakan daging babi yang disediakan mengikut aturan yang ditetapkan mendapat virus selsema babi. Virus dalam daging babi dapat dihapuskan dengan memasak pada suhu 160F / 70C.
Kenyataan ini seolah-olah menidakkan bahawa majoriti penduduk di Malaysia adalah beragama Islam. Ia juga seumpama telah mempersendakan ajaran Islam yang mengharamkan daging babi. Ia langsung tidak prihatin kepada sensitiviti umat Islam.
Kalaupun mereka yang mengeluarkan kenyataan ini belum menemui sebarang bukti saintifik, kenapa mereka tidak menyebut bahawa "MEMAKAN DAGING BABI ADALAH HARAM KEPADA UMAT ISLAM".
Sebagai orang yang diberi tanggungjawab untuk menyebarluas maklumat virus H1N1 ini, saya tidak mahu dipersalahkan kerana telah meletakkan kenyataan bahawa memakan daging babi adalah SELAMAT. Bagaimana jika ada mereka yang setelah membaca maklumat ini terdorong untuk memakan babi kerana diberikan kepercayaan oleh Kementerian dan oleh orang yang diberi tanggungjawab bahawa BOLEH MAKAN DAGING BABI.
Apakah tidak cukup dengan nama yang diberikan virus selsema babi, menyebabkan seseorang tidak mahu memakan babi? Di manakah akal mereka yang cerdik pandai sedang logik akal seorang budak tadika pun tahu, ia berpunca dari babi.
Kita sudah dan sedang dilanda dengan wabak yang semakin cepat merebak. Apakah kita masih berdegil dan berasa lebih hebat dari Tuhan sehingga sanggup membelakangkan hukum arahanNya? Atau apakah kita perlu lebih tadawwuk dan pasrah dengan kasih sayang dan rahmatNya?
